Waiting on Wednesday: House of Hades

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekely meme (God, I love meme's) hosted by Breaking The Spine, where we spotlight upcoming and highly anticipated (at least for me) releases.

This week, my choice for "Waiting on" Wednesday is:

Title: House of Hades (Heroes of Olympus #4)
Author: Rick Riordan
Publication Date: October 8, 2013
Summary from Goodreads: At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

If you've ever read any of Rick Riordan's novels, you know that he's an expert on giving us readers pain (Damn you Riordan!!). After I finished Mark of Athena, I cried for the longest time, and then seeing, on the last page "House of Hades, Fall 2013," made me cry even harder. The ending nearly killed me and I was dying for more!!

Finally, almost a year has passed and the newest installment of Heroes of Olympus is out soon! (Three more weeks in fact!).

And I'm mostly for certain that this book is going to hurt the most.

  1. I was just commenting on the blog Book Den that I need to read this spin off series and that I'm going to try it on audio. I didn't realize it was 4 books in. Great pick! I hope I can get to these soon, I have missed Riordan's writing.

    1. Oh yes you should read the spin off series! In my opinion, it's much better than the PJO series! The new characters are amazing and it's more intense and so much more interesting! I definitely recommend :)
