Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.

When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.

As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

Introduction to BookTube!

Hello friends!

In case you missed it, I started a BookTube channel! For those of you who don't know, BookTube is the term used for a YouTube channel that mainly focuses on books. As an avid reader who is obsessed with watching other YouTubers talk about their books, I decided to give in to the temptation and, after a lot of doubt with my self esteem, make a channel!

Last week I posted my first video, which was a book talk for The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken, which you can find right here. This week, I decided to post an introduction video! I felt it wouldn't be right if I made a BookTube channel without telling you a little bit about who I am. I'll leave the video down below!

Hours after posting this video, I got a couple of comments from some very lovely ladies and two new subscribers! *tries to hold back tears* *fails* *cries* It's very humbling that people like my videos and even subscribed so they can be updated when I post a new video and it's giving me the confidence to post more! I've been told how nice this community (the booktube community) is, but I didn't know how much and I feel pretty grateful!

Vid BookTalk: The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken!

Hello friends! I have some very exciting news!

Recently, I've been toying around with the idea of making a BookTube channel! For those of you who don't know, BookTube is a term for someone who has a YouTube channel that mainly targets posts about books. It's like a book blog, like this one, but instead of typing everything in a blog post, you stand in front of a camera and talk lol. (Okay, Karla, now you're just rambling).

I've been attempting to make videos and obtain the courage to post a video up, but I could never do it. But now I have! My first video is a Book Talk about Alexandra Bracken's YA novel, The Darkest Minds! I'll leave the video down below!

I'm very excited to be sharing this with you guys! It's taken a lot of courage for me to put this up, and even though it's up I'm still very, very self concious, so your kind words would be grateful! I'm very excited to start this new journey! I watch all these booktubers talking about their favorite books and making friends and connections and I envy them so much. I don't have many friends who read the same books I do, so I hope to make a whole bunch more!

To answer your burning questions (lol), no I will not be leaving my blog. I've spent so much time investing in it, and I still love my blog! So I'm going to keep this up, as well as my youtube channel!

For those of you out there who do come to my blog and read my posts, thank you so much for supporting me. I truly appreciate it, from the bottom of my heart!

Karla :)

Since she'd been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered. This was worse.

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland--known as The Death Shop--are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild--a savage--and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile--everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.
